Meet Our Head of School: Jonathan Eades

Head of School Photo

Jonathan joined The Kinkaid School as only the sixth Head of School in July 2020.  He has a deep commitment to developing authentic relationships and a strong sense of community across Kinkaid’s campus and beyond. His vision for Kinkaid’s future is apparent in his daily interactions as he works to create an environment where students strive for their own success with guidance from premier faculty and staff, and achieve their potential to become contributing citizens to our community, our country, and our world.  Jonathan honors the history and traditions of Kinkaid while also advancing the School’s programs, curriculum, and physical campus.  Above all, Jonathan is known for his high energy, presence at all Kinkaid events, and for always being student-centered.

Jonathan is a dedicated leader in the education field with almost 30 years years of experience in independent schools in positions ranging from history teacher, coach, advisor, Dean of Students, Division Head, to Head of School. Prior to joining Kinkaid, Jonathan spent 13 years at Saint Mary’s Hall, a college preparatory school, in San Antonio, Texas as Head of School. He has also served as a member of the Finance Committee and the Standards Committee for Independent School Association of the Southwest (ISAS).

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with Honors from Williams College and a Master’s in Education with a concentration in Private School Leadership from Columbia University. A lifelong learner, Jonathan is a product of independent school education, having been a “Lifer” at Fort Worth Country Day.

Jonathan and his wife Elizabeth, a native Houstonian and a fellow independent school educator,  are the proud parents of three current Falcons.
