Community Partners

Service to the community is an important part of the education development of student. Kinkaid students, faculty and staff support a variety of organizations in the community through ongoing relationships throughout the school year and into the summer. Kinkaid is proud to support year after year The Engineering Math and Science Institute (EMSI) . Without the dedication of faculty, staff, parents, alumni, parents of alumni and friends of Kinkaid this partnership would not be what they are today.

Engineering, Math, Science Institute (EMSI)

EMSI has been making a difference since 1975. This summer program is a sequential three-year program that offers an intensive curriculum of science, mathematics, computer programming, and an introduction to engineering studies. EMSI has been consistent in its efforts since the beginning: to help under-represented youth identify their talents and appreciate their possibilities as educated men and women; to encourage under-represented youth to pursue college or university educations, and, in particular, careers in science or engineering. Beyond these purposes, it is the hope that the Institute students will be worthy examples of academic ambitions and achievement in their Houston area schools.
