Inside a Public-Private Partnership Revitalizing Texas History

The San Jacinto battlefield and monument have just launched a $150 million overhaul of the site and its storytelling, including a new state of the art visitor center, led by an All-Star Texas team and the design group that spearheaded the National WWIl Museum in New Orleans; the recent work at Gettysburg; multiple Presidential Libraries, including George Washington's Mount Vernon; the Grammy Museum; and the Witte Museum in San Antonio, among many others. Come learn about the behind-the-scenes organizational dynamics that powered this public-private partnership through a once every three or four generations effort. Gain a sneak peek at what's about to unfold which will update and enliven the many lessons that hallowed ground offers. 7th Grade history test scores will not be checked at the door - anyone interested in the world of mission-driven non-profit work will appreciate the insights from this session.
