Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients 2026

During Reunion Weekend on Friday, April 10, 2026, the Kinkaid Alumni Association honored outstanding alumni and non-alumni friends for their service to the School and community with the Presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Sameer Sheth, MD, PhD ’94

Distinguished Alumnus

Sameer Sheth, MD, PhD ’94 entered Kinkaid in sixth grade and later graduated summa cum laude from Harvard College, majoring in Physics and Astronomy & Astrophysics. Inspired by his parents’ careers as physicians, he pursued an MD/PhD at UCLA, where he developed a strong interest in neuroscience from both research and clinical perspectives. Drawn by the brain’s complexity much as he once was by deep space, he completed neurosurgery residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital before joining the faculty at Columbia University, where he launched his clinical practice and NIH-funded research lab. In 2018, he was recruited to Baylor College of Medicine and returned home to Houston.

Ryan Beiermeister ’08

Distinguished Young Alumna

Ryan Beiermeister ’08 entered Kinkaid in sixth grade and was known for her artistic creativity, intellectual curiosity, and leadership, particularly as a standout member of the debate team. Her success at Kinkaid laid the foundation for a historic collegiate debate career at Northwestern University, where she graduated summa cum laude in the top 5% of her class, earned departmental honors in Political Science and English Literature, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Competing all four years, Ryan and her debate partner, Layne Kirshon ’10, were named the nation’s top college policy debate team in 2012, and Ryan won the Top Speaker Award at the national championship, becoming only the fourth woman to do so since 1947.

Judy Muir

Distinguished Honorary Alumna

Judy Muir devoted more than four decades of her professional life to Kinkaid, shaping generations of students through her commitment to developmental fit, individualized education, and thoughtful preparation for life beyond high school. During 32 years as Director of Kinkaid’s Career Development Program, she placed more than 5,000 seniors in high impact internships around the world, transforming a small Interim Term Program into a nationally recognized model. She also served for 12 years in Kinkaid’s College Office, guiding hundreds of students and families through the college admissions process with empathy and insight.

Brandt Bowden '96

Outstanding Alumni Service Award

Brandt Bowden ’96 entered Kinkaid in ninth grade and has remained a faithful Falcon ever since. Brandt exemplifies lifelong dedication to Kinkaid through his extraordinary service as an alumnus, parent, volunteer, and trustee. Brandt joined the Kinkaid’s Building Committee in 2014 and subsequently became a member of the Board of Trustees in 2018. During his tenure, he has served on numerous committees, including the Head of School Search Committee, and has co-chaired the Finance Committee. Most notably, he has chaired Kinkaid’s Building Committee since 2019. In this role, Brandt has been instrumental in the success of the ALL IN Campaign and in the planning, entitling, and execution of Kinkaid’s campus transformation. His leadership, expertise, and deep commitment to the School have made a lasting physical impact on campus that will resonate for generations.
