The online application deadlines for the 2025-2026 school year are as follows:
- Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten: Deadline is Friday, September 20, 2024
- 1st Grade-12th Grade: Deadline is Wednesday, December 4, 2024
Kinkaid accepts applications one year prior to the date of expected entry. Natural entry points are Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Sixth and Ninth grade. Please select the grade level options below for specific grade application requirements. You may use the Admission Portal during the admission process to check the status of your application. Application forms are available in a section below.

Lower School
Pre-Kindergarten
The online application deadline for 2025-2026 Pre-Kindergarten is Friday, September 20, 2024.
The deadline for application materials - WPPSI Results and Teacher Recommendation is Friday, October 25, 2024.
Age Requirement – Candidates must be at least four years old by July 1 of the year they will enter Pre-Kindergarten, and they must not have turned five before June 1 of the year they will enter Pre-Kindergarten.

In the Admission Portal you will need to complete the Parent Questionnaire, Family Information, and submit the non-refundable $100 application fee. You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submission. The application must be completed by Friday, September 20, 2024 in order to be considered for admission for the 2025-2026 school year.
Step 3: Testing – WPPSI
The WPPSI is scheduled through Collaborative Academic Testing. Please visit www.catstexas.com to register for testing by September 25, 2024. This test takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Testing results are due to our office by Friday, October 25, 2024.
Step 4: Group Visit/Developmental Assessment
All applicants will be invited to a group visit where they will meet grade level teachers and spend time in Kinkaid classrooms. This is an opportunity for our teachers to get to know our applicants in a small group setting. Applicants will also be scheduled for an individual developmental assessment. Group visits and developmental assessments will take place on assigned dates and times beginning in September.
Step 5: Teacher Recommendation
The recommendation is a confidential response from your child’s current instructors.

Complete and send the online Transcript Release form to the school your child currently attends. Transcripts are due by Friday, January 17, 2025.
Applicants for 1st and 2nd Grade: Applicants must submit a transcript, including grades from the current fall 2024 semester and any grades from the previous school year.
Applicants for 3rd and 4th Grade: Transcripts must include grades from the two previous academic years and the current fall 2024 semester or first trimester.

Check in time is at 8:30 a.m. on the day of testing, testing will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., and students will be dismissed by 12:00 p.m.
*We will use, in its entirety, the most recent ISEE test submitted to our office. ISEE Test scores are due by Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Each candidate for Grade 6 will have an interview with a member of the Admission Committee. After submitting the application, a faculty member assigned to the candidate will contact you by telephone or email to set a mutually agreeable time for the student interview.
