The online application deadlines for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:
- Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten: Deadline is Friday, September 22, 2023
- 1st Grade-12th Grade: Deadline is Wednesday, November 29, 2023
Kinkaid accepts applications one year prior to the date of expected entry. Natural entry points are Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Sixth and Ninth grade. Please select the grade level options below for specific grade application requirements. You may use the Admission Portal during the admission process to check the status of your application. Lower School
Pre-Kindergarten
The online application deadline for 2024-2025 Pre-Kindergarten is Friday, September 22, 2023.
The deadline for application materials - WPPSI Results and Teacher Recommendation is Friday, October 27, 2023.
Age Requirement – Candidates must be at least four years old by July 1 of the year they will enter Pre-Kindergarten, and they must not have turned five before June 1 of the year they will enter Pre-Kindergarten.

You will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of submission. Step 3: Testing – WPPSI
The WPPSI is scheduled weekdays through The Kinkaid Admission and Enrollment Management Office and administered at Education Specialists, located at 11511 Katy Freeway, Suite 502, Houston, TX, 77079. A payment of $300 (cash or check only) is due to Education Specialists at the time of testing. Testing results are due to our office by Friday, October 27, 2023.
Please note: The Kinkaid School Admission and Enrollment Management Office will only accept results from testers who have an established agreement to test candidates for admission on behalf of a peer Houston Area Independent School. If you have questions about this requirement, please contact our office at (713) 243-5033.
Step 4: Group Visit/Developmental Assessment
All applicants will be invited to a group visit where they will meet grade level teachers and spend time in Kinkaid classrooms. This is an opportunity for our teachers to get to know our applicants in a small group setting. Applicants will also be scheduled for an individual developmental assessment. Group visits and developmental assessments will take place on assigned dates and times beginning in September.
Step 5: Teacher Recommendation
The recommendation is a confidential response from your child’s current instructors.
Teacher Recommendation Note: In order to give the teacher time to get to know your applicant better, we ask that you not give the teacher this form before Monday, October 2, 2023. This form will be due Friday, October 27, 2023. The Kinkaid Admission and Enrollment Management Office cannot accept recommendations that are submitted before Monday, October 2, 2023.

Check in time is at 8:30 a.m. on the day of testing, testing will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m., and students will be dismissed by 12:00 p.m.
*We will use, in its entirety, the most recent ISEE test submitted to our office. ISEE Test scores are due by Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
