Congratulations to Sellers Thomas and Jordan Kassab who received blue ribbons for being one of the top 18 in the State. Jordan was recognized for poetry interpretation and Sellers was recognized for his modern oratory on small class sizes being essential to quality education. Isabel Parsons advanced to the State Finals in impromptu speaking. The speakers select one of the three topics they draw and have one minute to prepare a speech. Isabel selected "If you could go to an island, which one would it be. She selected Japan and discussed three reasons for her choice: the natural beauty of Japan, the beauty of the language, and Japan's pop culture. Isabel developed each of the areas. Congratulations to Isabel for receiving 2nd place in the State in Impromptu Speaking. She received a medal and certificate. All events included 7th and 8th grade students. We should be proud of our 7th grade students!! A special thank you to Kim Thomas and Carol Kassab who were with us and supported the students throughout the tournament.
