Event Recap: Lacrosse fans - you couldn't have asked for a more exciting game last night against a talented Memorial club at Grob Stadium. Both teams exchanged goals back and forth throughout the game, making minor adjustments here and there to counter-attack and defend with regulation ending in a tie score. In the first OT (two 3-minute stanzas) the Mustangs would score first, not to be outdone Kinkaid would answer back with scores of our own, sending this exciting "almost-labor inducing" game into a second OT, this time is sudden-victory (first goal wins and the game is over).
We would battle on the circle to win the draw control, set up into our offense and take a tough-angled shot that would be collected by Memorial's defense. On the surmounting clear Kinkaid forced a turnover, where Mollie Gaylor used her speed and skilled dodges to drive the ball into the middle of the 8M and put away the game winner. Cue the cleared bench and screams from the stands! Exciting stuff and thanks again to Memorial for making it one of the most memorable and exciting games (third this week), forcing our Laxers to earn every 50/50 ball, defensive stop, and goal scored. | |
